S.T. Dupont is one of the most well-known lighter producers in the world. Based in Paris and founded in 1872, Dupont didn’t start making lighters until after 1914. The example we have here is black clad in black lacquer with gold tipping. It works perfectly and has the familiar clinking sound associated with these lighters. History of the Breguet N° 5
Sold on March 14, 1794, to Count Journiac-Saint-Meard for 3,600 francs, this exceptional timepiece was one of the early self-winding pocket watches. This revolutionary technique allowed the watch to wind and power itself using a platinum plate that oscillates.

The Breguet N° 5 is one of the world’s first automatic timepieces. Measuring at 54mm in diameter, it also featured a quarter-repeater (dumb repeater, striking against the case instead of gongs, constructed from principles of the garde-temps); gold case, silver engine-tuned dial with sunken subsidiary seconds; and 60-hour power-reserve indicator and phases of the moon.

These technologically advanced and expensive “perpétuelles” were owned by only a few members of the aristocracy, namely Queen Marie-Antoinette and the duc d’Orléans. This accomplishment (among many other innovations) contributed to establishing Breguet’s reputation as the finest watchmaker of all time.

Most of the first series of the famous perpétuelles were completed with a white enamel dial. Some of them were later returned to fake Breguet watches online to be fitted with a silver engine-turned guilloche dial which became more stylistically popular, and is still ever-present in many wristwatches today. This watch, however, was among the few which were sold directly with the silver hand-engraved dial.

The reproduction of the Breguet N° 5 is a true masterpiece of technological genius and enduring beauty that is now come back to life. Using traditional watchmaking techniques, it reflects the full range of talents and skills of the master horologist and craftsmen at cheap fake Manufacture Breguet watches.

Breguet N° 5 was purchased in April 2001 at Antiquorum’s auction in New York by former Breguet CEO Nicolas G. Hayek for 1,150,000 Swiss Francs.

Breguet sold some sixty units from 1787 to 1823, and we can assume (although we lack documentary records) that in the years between 1780 and 1787, he produced an estimated twenty or thirty units.
